middle school teacher has been arrested on charges of Lewd and Lascivious
Battery on a Child, after a former player came forward with allegations of
sexual conduct. Ira K. Tryon, Jr.,
age 31 (11-15-1973), of Fort Walton Beach, was arrested this afternoon (Monday
afternoon) at Bruner Middle School.
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation in November
after the victim reported incidents that she said had occurred in 2001 and 2002,
when she was a student at Bruner.
Sexual incidents are alleged to have taken place at the defendant’s
residence, the victim’s residence, and at the school.
The victim had become close with the defendant when he was her soccer
coach.
