N E W S   R E L E A S E  

            A joint investigation by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Children and Families has resulted in the arrest of a Shalimar resident for aggravated child abuse.  Joshua Wayne Fillinger, age 22 (11-18-82), was arrested Friday, May 20^th, after the mother of the child brought her three month old child to the emergency room at Fort Walton Beach Medical Center.  Upon examination, the child was found to have multiple injuries and was transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola .  As a result of further testing, the injuries were determined to be consistent with “Shaken Baby Syndrome”.   

            The baby is currently in the intensive care unit at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
