Okaloosa Youth Week

Okaloosa County Sheriff Charlie Morris is inviting middle and high school students to participate in Okaloosa Youth Week (formerly known as the Junior Deputy Academy ).  The summer camp program will be presented and supervised by the Sheriff’s Youth Services Division, School Resource Officers.

The summer camp will begin on Monday, June 13th, 2005, through Friday, June 17th, 2005, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the following locations:

          Richbourg Middle School

          Pryor Middle School

          Ruckel Middle School

Topics to be covered include Law Enforcement Patrol Procedures, Crime Scene, Investigations, K-9 Unit, Marine Unit, Traffic Enforcement, and much more.  A graduation ceremony will be held on Friday at Ruckel Middle School and food will be provided.

The program is free of charge and free transportation is available upon request to ensure everyone can attend.  Applications are available at the Sheriff’s Office North District Office on Brackin Street in Crestview and the Sheriff’s Administration building at 50 Second Street in Shalimar (behind McDonald’s).  For more information, or to sign up, contact the Youth Services Division Sergeant Bobby Maloney at (850) 259-7895.
