Sheriff’s Citizens Academy

            Okaloosa County Sheriff Charlie Morris invites citizens to register for the Sheriff’s Citizens Academy .

            Classes will be held from September 1 through December 1.  Classes will begin at 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday evenings at Bob Hope Village at 30 Holly Avenue in Shalimar.

            Students will be exposed to a wide range of programs, services, and responsibilities of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office.  Instructors for the academy will be members of your Sheriff’s Office, who will teach in their area of expertise.

            Topics covered by the Citizens Academy include Patrol Procedures, Crime Prevention, Communications and 911, Crime Scene Processing, Narcotics Enforcement, Civil Process, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, Sex Crimes, Firearm Safety, School Resource Officers, Criminal Investigations, Homeland Security, K-9 Operations, Community Services, Environmental Enforcement, Marine Patrol, and many more.
