Crestview Drug Arrests

Anonymous tips to Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers and the Okaloosa Sheriff’s Office helped spark a drug investigation that ended in the arrest of two Crestview residents.

Members of the Okaloosa County Multi-Agency Drug Task Force executed a search warrant Thursday at 5786 J.V. Wooley Road in Crestview.

Inside the home, investigators found nearly two pounds of marijuana, weighing scales, and packaging materials. They also seized more than twenty-eight grams of hydrocodone tables.

During the knock and announce phase of the warrant, a man later identified as 34-year old Michael Terry Brown jumped from a window in an unsuccessful getaway attempt.

As a result of the investigation, lawmen have charged 68-year old James Thomas Edge of 5786 Wooley Road home with four felony counts: possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, trafficking in morphine, oxycodone, and hydrocodone in excess of twenty-eight grams,  possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Michael Terry Brown, of the same address, faces three felony counts: possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and resisting arrest without violence.

Mug shots of Edge and Brown are available at the Okaloosa County Department of Corrections in Crestview.
