AGGRAVATED BATTERY INVESTIGATION

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office plans to charge a 19-year old Shalimar woman with false reports of commission of crimes.  Frandy Owens of 69 4th  Avenue  told deputies she was attacked and robbed by an unknown assailant as she walked down 8th Street around 10:45 p.m. November 1st.  Investigators say during questioning Thursday, Owens told them she was actually attacked inside her home by an ex-boyfriend, and that she concocted the other story.

Filing a false report is a first degree misdemeanor that carries a maximum punishment of up to one year imprisonment and a $1000.00 fine.

Meantime, Okaloosa Sheriff’s Office investigators are now searching for 24-year old Jeffrey Lane Scott, last known address of Decatur , Georgia for questioning in the case.
