HOME INVASION ARRESTS

The Okaloosa Sheriff 's Office has arrested two individuals in connection with a home invasion robbery that took place around 5 a.m. December 24th.

28-year old Wesley Martin Stevens (pictured left) is charged with home invasion robbery, grand theft of a firearm, armed burglary, aggravated assault, battery upon a person over age 60 and grand theft auto. An additional charge of fleeing and eluding a police officer is pending.

37-year old Tracy Midgette (pictured right) of 441 Racetrack Road , Lot 2, is charged with home invasion robbery, armed burglary, and grand theft of a firearm.

Investigators say Stevens, with the help of Midgette, broke into a home at 908 Spruce Court . Stevens fought with a 67-year old resident there before finally taking off with a stolen gun and the victim's 1996 Chevy Corsica. A deputy spotted the car about six minutes later. After a short pursuit, Stevens crashed the car on FIM Boulevard , ran from the scene, and was then caught by a Sheriff 's Office K-9. Officers later arrested Midgette at her Racetrack Road address.

Deputies believe Stevens tried to enter several homes in the Spruce Court area before crawling through a back window at the victim's house.
