DRUG
TASK FORCE MAKES ANOTHER ARREST ON CORVET STREET
The Okaloosa County Multi-Agency Drug Task Force is continuing its
efforts to combat drug dealing in the Corvet Street area and is grateful to
citizens who've been using the Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers tip line to assist
them.
The most recent arrest is of 22-year old Deshaun "D" Roosevelt
Frazier of 404-B Corvet Street. Frazier was stopped for aggressive driving
Monday around noon at Racetrack Road and Don Drive. A
walk-around of his vehicle by Sgt. Bob Dudley and K-9 "Ruger" indicated an
odor of narcotics from inside the car. A search turned up residue amounts of
crack cocaine.
The Okaloosa Drug Task Force then obtained a search warrant for
Frazier's residence. Inside a locked bedroom holding documents and pictures of
Frazier they found a digital scale, a metal spoon with residue and other drug
paraphernalia. Investigators also found 23 grams of cocaine in a dresser, along
with baggies commonly used for redistribution. In addition, a large amount of
cash was located hidden in the bedroom.
The defendant's residence is located within 1000 feet of a child care
facility at 415 Verb Street.
Frazier is charged with possession of cocaine with intent to
distribute within 1000 feet of a daycare, possession of cocaine, and possession
of drug paraphernalia.
Investigators say in recent days Frazier's residence has been the
subject of numerous tips to Emerald Coast Crime Stoppers. The program pays cash
rewards of up to one-thousand dollars for information that helps lead to an
arrest, and you never have to give your name. The tip hotline number is
1-850-863-TIPS.
