TWO IN CUSTODY IN DESTIN CONVENIENCE STORE
ROBBERY
Ronald Franklin Virtz |
Carcellous Ozis King |
The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office arrested two Destin men in
connection with the early Sunday morning robbery of the Fill-Ups Food Store
located at 201 Harbor Boulevard in Destin.
23-year old Carcellous Ozis King of 109 Marler Street, Unit F, in Destin
has been charged with armed robbery and 38-year old Ronald Franklin Virtz of 109
Marler Street, Unit A, in Destin has been charged with principle to armed
robbery.
At approximately 4:30 a.m. on March 3, Virtz entered the store and talked
to the clerk and tried to sell her his necklace. Virtz then left the store and
gave a “thumbs up” sign towards the corner of the building to let King know that
there were no customers in the store. King then entered the store wearing a
black hoodie and demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint.
Vitz said that King came to his location about a half an hour later and
gave him $100 for helping him.
