SLAIN OKALOOSA COUNTY DEPUTY LAID TO REST
Deputy Sheriff Anthony "Tony" Forgione
Funeral Services were
held today for slain Okaloosa County Deputy Anthony Forgione. The 33-year old
Niceville resident was laid to rest in Heritage Gardens Cemetery following an
overflow service at Assembly of God Church in Niceville.
Approximately
two-thousand people attended the service, including law enforcement officers
representing more than 100 law enforcement agencies.
Okaloosa County
Sheriff Charlie Morris says Deputy Forgione was a man of character and the kind
of deputy every Sheriff would want on his team. Sheriff
Morris wants to express his sincere appreciation to the public, for the
overwhelming support and concern expressed for the agency and the Forgione
family over the past four days.
The
Sheriff has permanently retired Deputy Forgione’s Unit Number, 245, in honor of
his sacrifice for the community he served so well.
Deputy Forgione is survived by his wife Jessica, and their two daughters,
Caitlin and Cassie.
