MURDER SUSPECT BEING SOUGHT
Thomas McCoy
Regional
law enforcement agencies are asking for the public's help in locating a Laurel
Hill resident wanted in connection with the murder of a Baker man at Northwest
Florida State College's Chautauqua Center in Defuniak Springs last Friday
afternoon.
A joint investigation
into the fatal shooting of 38-year old Curtis Brown is underway, involving the
Defuniak Springs Police Department, Walton County Sheriff's Office, Okaloosa
County Sheriff's Office, Valparaiso Police Department, State Attorney's Office,
Florida Department of Law Enforcement, and U-S Marshals Service.
Investigators say
anyone with information on the whereabouts of Thomas McCoy Junior should phone
their nearest local law enforcement agency or call 850-951-4711. Do not attempt
to make contact with McCoy, who is wanted in Walton County on an open count of
homicide. He is considered armed and dangerous.
Brown,
a former co-worker of McCoy, was at the
Chautauqua Center Friday to work on a vending machine when he was shot in the
chest.
McCoy is believed to
be driving a full-sized silver Dodge truck with Florida license plate L929RF. A
decal of his company, Cold Drink, Inc., was located on the right rear window.
