A fourth individual is now charged in connection with the January shooting death of a Crestview teenager. Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Investigators tracked down 37-year old suspect Marvin Wilkins Sunday morning (today) near the Brooks Bridge on Okaloosa Island.
Wilkins was taken into custody on active warrants for racketeering in connection with a criminal enterprise involving a gang known as the “Money Mafia”.
Investigators say Wilkins was known as “The Don” of the operation.
In addition to the two counts of racketeering, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has now also charged Wilkins with first degree murder for the death of 18-year old Mark Williams of Crestview.
Two of three co-defendants in the case, 18-year old Erich Justice of Fort Walton Beach and 20-year old Nijajuan Russell of Ozark Alabama, told OCSO investigators after their arrests Friday that Williams was killed at the direction of Wilkins. They say Wilkins gave them and the third co-defendant, 23-year old Bernard Nunnally of Crestview, an order to T.O.S. – or “terminate on sight”. They say Wilkins made sure Nunnally, Russell, and Justice had firearms before they headed out to pick up Williams at his home the night of his death.
Williams’ body was discovered January 21st 2015 near the wood line on State Road 85 near mile marker 21. The Crestview teen had been shot at least seven times with three different weapons.
Witnesses say Wilkins believed Williams was giving information to a rival gang.
The investigation is ongoing.
