The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Tallahassee man with soliciting a juvenile online for sex.
35-year old David Christopher Roberts of Teal Lane was arrested yesterday.
OCSO investigators say in April 2023 they set up and conducted an online chatting operation, posing as a 13-year old girl, in an attempt to locate and identify individuals soliciting for sex with juveniles.
Roberts contacted the undercover officer on the dating application “MeetMe” and the conversation quickly transitioned to text messages and proposals for sexual activity.
Roberts also sent explicit photos. Search warrants were obtained for the account records.
Based on the results of the investigation Roberts is charged with use of a computer to seduce solicit or lure a child, distributing obscene material to a minor, and use of a two-way communication device to commit a felony.
