During the month of March 2015 members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit initiated an investigation into a drug distribution network allegedly operated by 29-year old Kim Denord Gibson of Miami. Information had been developed that Gibson was traveling to Okaloosa County from Miami in order to distribute large amounts of pharmaceutical medications.
On June 26, 2015, members of the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit conducted a controlled purchase of approximately twenty (20) grams of suspected Hydromorphone tablets from Gibson. Upon completion of the controlled purchase, he was immediately taken into custody by law enforcement officers without incident. During a search incident to arrest an additional approximate five (5) grams of suspected Hydromorphone was seized.
Gibson is charged with Trafficking in Opium or Derivative (Approximately 25 Grams); and Unlawful use of a two-way communications device.
