In response to complaints of active prostitution rings in South Okaloosa County, the Sheriff’s Office conducted a sting operation October 2nd aimed at women posting solicitation advertisements on various websites.
The effort resulted in five arrests, including a Fort Walton Beach man for procuring the proceeds, or living off the earnings, of prostitution.
The OCSO’s Narcotics Unit used an undercover officer to contact the females through their internet advertisements. They agreed to meet at a hotel room on Miracle Strip Parkway. Once the women arrived, they offered sex or sex acts for money.
Five persons were arrested:
31-year old Terrance Lamar of 209 Elaine Avenue, Fort Walton Beach, charged with procuring the proceeds of prostitution and felony violation of probation.
23-year old Camillia Rushing of 2201 Frontera Street, Navarre, charged with solicitation for prostitution.
48-year old Melissa Kelly of Extended Stay Lodge, charged with solicitation for prostitution.
26-year old Holly Evans of 415 Heron Drive, Santa Rosa Beach, charged with solicitation for prostitution.
And 28-year old Kaysha Barnard of 225 Burson Street, Sampson Alabama, charged with solicitation for prostitution.
