Kadontre Nelson
An Eglin Air Force Base resident faces multiple charges following a 4 a.m. disturbance Sunday at a Destin nightclub.
21-year old Kadontre Akeem Nelson is charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, resisting an officer with violence, and disorderly intoxication. Deputies say Nelson was intoxicated and involved in an altercation inside Nightown at 140 Palmetto Drive. He was being escorted out of the building by doormen. An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputy attempted to place him in handcuffs but Nelson continued fighting and yelling. The deputy had to take him to the ground. Nelson continued to fight and had to be tazed three times before the deputy could gain compliance.
At booking, Nelson said he remembered the deputy identifying himself to him. When asked why he continued to fight when he knew the person was a law enforcement officer, Nelson said he was very intoxicated and made a bad choice.
