An Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigation into the drug overdose death of a Fort Walton Beach teenager has led to the arrest of the suspect who supplied the illegal narcotics.
21-year old Quion Cortez Purnell was charged with homicide caused by the unlawful distribution of fentanyl. Purnell’s warrant was served October 15th and he is currently being held in the Okaloosa County Jail.
The investigation determined the 16-year old victim bought fentanyl from Purnell on August 10, 2023. The victim was later found unresponsive at a Fort Walton Beach home and pronounced deceased. The District One Medial Examiner’s Officer determined the teenager’s death to be a result of “Intoxication with Fentanyl.”
