A two-year joint narcotics operation in south Okaloosa County has led to the recent arrests of at least 17 individuals. Additional arrests are pending. Many of the wanted individuals were rounded up this week.
“Operation Cagney & Lazer” was spearheaded by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit and involved the Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Marshals Office, OCSO Fugitive Task Force and OCSO K9 Units.
The operation targeted primarily mid-level and street level dealers involved in an ongoing narcotics campaign to distribute, sell, and purchase cocaine and other drugs. To date investigators have seized a kilo of cocaine, thousands of dollars in cash, and a firearm.
