Two Milton residents suspected in the August 23rd armed robbery of an Okaloosa County pharmacy are currently in custody on unrelated warrants in the Santa Rosa County Jail.
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office investigators say there is evidence that 31-year old Shana Martin and 34-year old Erik Johnson, both of 6541 Lakeshore Drive, were involved in an attempt to rob the Health Smart Pharmacy on 5809 North State Road 129 in Baker around 6 p.m. Tuesday evening.
Witnesses say two subjects wearing masks entered the store armed with handguns, but fled in an orange Ford Mustang after the pharmacy owner retrieved a gun and pointed it at them through the pharmacy glass.
Santa Rosa County deputies who heard the BOLO – Be on the Lookout – from the OCSO spotted a car matching the description of the getaway vehicle at a Tom Thumb in Milton shortly before midnight. The driver allowed deputies to search the car, where they found clothing matching the items worn in the armed robbery attempt in Baker.
The two suspects were later located at their home on Lakeshore Drive, where they were taken into custody on unrelated outstanding warrants from Santa Rosa County.
OCSO Investigators are continuing their investigation. They say Martin and Johnson face charges in Okaloosa County of robbery with a firearm and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
