Okaloosa County Sheriff Larry Ashley is being recognized for his steadfast support of his employees who serve in the nation’s National Guard and Reserves.
Today a local representative from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Program, Terry Dawkins, presented Sheriff Ashley the organization’s “Patriot Award”.
The award recognizes “Patriotic Employers” for their critical contribution to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employees who participate in America’s National Guard and Reserve Force.
Sheriff Ashley was nominated by Deputy Ike Kenty, an Air Force Reservist who says he and others in the agency who serve in those capacities appreciate the high level of support they receive from the Sheriff.
More than 120 OCSO employees are either retired from military service or are current Reservists.
“These law enforcement professionals take their already impressive commitment to serve and protect to another level, using their time, talents, and energies to benefit their country as well. I could not be prouder of what they achieve here at home and while deployed,” said Sheriff Ashley.
