OCSO SOLVES TEN-YEAR OLD MURDER CASE
The Okaloosa
County Sheriff's Office and Florida Department of Law Enforcement today obtained
the assistance of the Bay County Sheriff's Office to arrest a Lynn Haven man on
one count of premeditated, first degree murder.
39-year
old Todd Ball of 733 Baywood Drive was taken into custody around 2 p.m Thursday
in connection with the death of his ex-wife ten years ago. Ball was arrested at
his business, Countertop Visions, Inc. in Southport.
Laurie Kimberlyn
Clements Ball, known as "Kim", disappeared June 10, 1999 while carrying cleaning
supplies out of a home on Holiday Isle in Destin. Her body was found by
fishermen two days later in a swampy area off County Road 393 in South Walton
County.
In the years since,
Okaloosa County investigators have continued to sift through and look at new
ways of analyzing the evidence. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement and
F-B-I assisted.
Investigator Tom
Bowman says the case was presented to a grand jury, which returned a true bill
on April 13th, finding probable cause for Ball's arrest.
Okaloosa County
Sheriff Ed Spooner praised Bowman for his persistence and hard work in resolving
the case.
